Normally, I would not dedicate a whole post to a single vacation rental. In fact, this my first time. So why now? This Florida Keys vacation rental is over the top amazing.

I found this rental at Key Colony Beach by digging around on VRBO. And, I feel like I struck gold. (I paid full price and got no special rate to write this post. However, if you do decide to rent via my link to VRBO, I receive a small commission.)

This Florida Keys vacation rental is conveniently located in Key Colony Beach.

Key Colony Beach is a neat little canal and beachfront community by Marathon. Marathon is mid Keys, so it’s an excellent base for accessing activities throughout the Keys.
This keys cottage is half of a canal-side duplex. So, you park right by your door – which I love.

This 2 bedroom (queens) 1 bath unit has a modern, airy feel. There is a stackable washer and dryer in the bathroom which I think is super important for this trip.

This kitchen and living area is all one room like a typical condo. There is a bar, but you’re not going to want to eat inside.

Enough about the inside. What makes this place so special is the outdoor living space. It’s blissful!

The dining area is housed under a tiki roof. There is a grill and fans for comfort.

And then there are the hammock swings. Oh, the heavenly hammock swings…

If you can tear yourself away from the hammock swings, you can relax in the private pool.

No need to worry about getting too much sun. 2 giant adjustable umbrellas have you covered.

As the cherry on top, this rental is on a canal. If you have a boat, you can park it here.

It’s also a great place to kayak and fish.

Perhaps my favorite part of sitting canal side was watching the manatees.

This is a perfect place to sit and sip morning coffee. But, it is NOT a place to swim. My husband saw a giant shark one morning.

I’ve stayed in a lot of places over the years. This canal-side rental is really something special! This Florida Keys vacation rental is not just a place to sleep, it’s a destination.
