A quick trip to Chicago for a night at the theatre calls for a hotel that’s comfortable, convenient, and close to the venue. On our recent visit to see Les Misérables at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, we found just that at Cambria Hotel Chicago Loop – Theatre District.

Location, Location, Location
One of my top priorities when choosing a hotel for a theatre night is walkability. After a late show, I want to be able to take a short stroll back to the hotel without worrying about waiting for a cab or dealing with post-show rideshare surge pricing.

The Cambria Hotel was only two blocks from the Cadillac Palace Theatre, making it an easy five-minute walk. This convenience alone made it an excellent choice!

Early Check-In
We arrived well before check-in time, but luck was on our side—we were able to drop off our bags in our room early. This gave us the freedom to explore Chicago before the show without having to worry about luggage. If you’re visiting for a quick trip and want to maximize your time in the city, this is a huge plus.

Unique Features and Amenities at Cambria Hotel Chicago
Cambria Hotel has a few quirks that make it stand out:
- Lobby on the 9th Floor – Instead of entering into a ground-level lobby, you take an elevator up to the 9th floor for check-in. This was a little different but easy enough to navigate.
- Luggage Storage – Super helpful if you have a late flight or want to explore the city after checking out.
- On-Site Snacks & Drinks – The lobby has water and snacks available for purchase, which is always a nice touch.

The Sweetest Temptation: Garrett Popcorn
Right next door to the hotel is Garrett Popcorn, one of Chicago’s most iconic snack spots. Walking past, the heavenly scent of caramel popcorn filled the air. It was both a blessing and a curse—fantastic because it smelled amazing, dangerous because resisting it was nearly impossible! Spoiler: We gave in and grabbed a bag.

Would We Stay Here Again? Absolutely!
Cambria Hotel Chicago was clean, comfortable, and in a prime location for theatre lovers.
Whether you’re catching a show at the Cadillac Palace or another nearby venue, this hotel makes it easy to enjoy your night in Chicago without worrying about transportation.

We loved our stay and would definitely book here again!
