Kona Bali Kai Condo: Oceanfront Bliss on Hawaii’s Big Island

When we planned our week on the Big Island, we decided early on that we didn’t want to hop from place to place. We wanted one comfortable home base where we could unpack, relax, and explore the island without living out of a suitcase.

We found the perfect spot: Kona Castle Bali Kai in Kailua-Kona, about 25 minutes south of the airport.

We booked a two-bedroom condo with an INCREDIBLE ocean view, and it couldn’t have been a better fit for us. It was spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed for the week, plus a lanai that became our favorite place on the island.

The Lanai: Our Favorite Spot

The lanai was where we spent most of our time when we weren’t out exploring.

It had a table with comfortable chairs and two cushioned loungers, perfect for reading or simply soaking in the sound of the waves. (Couldn’t put down this page-turner, the Coworker.)

It was peaceful and so relaxing, the kind of spot that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment.

In the evenings, we’d often eat dinner on the lanai, watching the sky turn golden as the sun slipped into the Pacific.

The View

The view from our condo was absolutely stunning. The water sparkled under the bright blue Hawaiian sky, framed by swaying palm trees.

Looking out from the lanai, we had a peaceful view of the tide pools and lava rocks along the shore.

Sunset Magic at Our Kona Oceanfront Condo

Every night, we had a front-row seat to beautiful sunsets at our Kona oceanfront condo. Each one was different, sometimes fiery orange, sometimes soft pink, but always breathtaking. We never got tired of watching the colors change across the horizon.

Inside the Condo

Inside, the condo was just as inviting as the view outside. The living room was cozy and decorated with a tropical vibe that fit the setting perfectly.

The kitchen was fully equipped, with granite countertops, modern appliances, and everything we needed to make meals during the week.

And having a washer and dryer in a Kona oceanfront condo was such a bonus, especially after beach days and hikes.

It was clear that the owners had thought of everything to make guests feel right at home.

Amenities and Parking

The property had both open and covered parking. While spaces in the front were limited, there was always plenty of room underneath the building. Having covered parking was great because it kept the car cool, which was especially nice after a long day in the sun.

A Perfect Base for Exploring the Big Island

Kona Bali Kai was a fantastic oceanfront condo for our week-long adventure. We spent time exploring the Kona coast, snorkeling near Captain Cook, and took day trips to Hilo and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

It was so convenient to come “home” at the end of each day to such a comfortable space and fall asleep to the sound of the ocean.

Would We Stay Here Again? Absolutely.

Our stay at Kona Bali Kai was everything we hoped it would be: peaceful, comfortable, and surrounded by incredible scenery. It offered the perfect mix of convenience and relaxation, and I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

If you’re looking for an oceanfront stay in Kona that feels like a true home away from home, this is it.
