World of Coca Cola Trip Tip
As you tour this museum of all things Coke, be sure to pay attention not only the to the history of the beverage but also to the development of the bottle.
Coca Cola was originally sold as a fountain drink. However, in 1894, shop owner, Joseph Biedenharn began selling it in glass bottles, so customers could enjoy Coke at home.
The Coca Cola bottle itself has its own story! Prior to 1916, the bottle was not standardized, so be sure to look for your state’s bottle!
In 1915, the Coca Cola brand took a big step forward. A new and distinct green glass bottle was designed. And by 1928, the bottle surpassed the fountain!
While the bottle has changed periodically over time, we still recognize that familiar Coca Cola contour!
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. And, Coca Cola has been flattered a lot! But, this delicious drink still stands out in the crowd!
