The Capital Bar and Grill in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a fantastic place to unwind and have a delicious meal.

Located inside the historic Capital Hotel, this eatery is stately yet not pretentious.

The dinner menu features southern dishes with an upscale flare.

The Capital Hotel is in the heart of downtown Little Rock. This historic hotel opened in 1877, offering the most modern luxuries of the day. Today, this structure is still charming guests as it did over 100 years ago.
The Capital Bar and Grill is to the right, off the hotel lobby.

While passing through the grand lobby, notice the stunning moldings and handsome front desk.

The Capital Bar and Grill dining area is inviting and comfortable. The massive bar is the focal point.

The menu includes several options for snacks and starters. We selected the pretzel bites, which had a nice sweet glaze.

Various entrees are available, from steak and pork to shrimp and chicken. Considering the shrimp and grits? They don’t skimp on protein or gravy. (This is my favorite.)

The braised short rib is served with vegetables and whipped potatoes.

Of course, you can always play it safe and get the burger.

We enjoyed a good cup of coffee and a chocolate brownie for dessert.

Parking is a breeze at the Capital Hotel. Complimentary valet parking is available to customers (plus a tip). This is particularly handy when attending an event downtown. Reservations are accepted.

The Capital Bar and Grill in Arkansas is an excellent place to enjoy a flavorful meal and see one of Little Rock’s legendary structures.
