Sun Princess Stateroom 14436 Photo Tour: Deluxe Balcony Cabin Review

When we booked our Mediterranean cruise on the Sun Princess, we reserved our stateroom far in advance. We had our eye on stateroom 14436, a deluxe balcony cabin located on the side of the “bubble,” where the ship curves out, and the premium deluxe balcony staterooms in the center have oversized balconies. By booking early, we got the deluxe balcony price while still enjoying a balcony almost as large as the premium ones.

It turned out to be the perfect choice. With three of us sharing the room on an 11-night cruise, we had plenty of space and storage. Everything fit, and we even had room to spare.

First Impressions

The stateroom felt modern, bright, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we all slept so well.

Desk and Vanity

The sofa converted into a bed for our third guest. Even with the sofa bed pulled out, the room still felt functional.

The desk/vanity area was well-designed with good lighting and outlets for charging. It made a convenient spot for organizing daily essentials.

Storage Galore

This was one of the most impressive features of the cabin. The closet and shelving space were generous, more than enough for three overpackers traveling with three weeks’ worth of clothes. We managed to completely unpack, which made the room feel even more spacious.

Cruise Storage Tip: Magnetic Hooks

One of the best hacks was a set of magnetic hooks. Since the cabin walls are metal, these little hooks stick right on and instantly create extra hanging space. We used them for hats, bags, and other items we wanted quick access to without cluttering up counters or chairs.

They were inexpensive, easy to pack, and made a big difference in keeping our room organized. We used these magnetic hooks from Amazon (affiliate link), and they worked perfectly for our needs. We also used these magnetic clips for the daily Princess Patter and shore excursion tickets to keep the desk tidier.

Cruises are full of little moments you may want to remember, such as favorite meals, funny conversations, or unexpected views. A small travel journal is a great way to capture those memories along the way. I designed this Mediterranean Cruise Travel Journal on Amazon with cruise travelers in mind. It is pocket-sized, easy to carry, and filled with cruise-themed icons to make jotting down notes simple and fun.

Bathroom

Sink and shower

The bathroom was sleek and fresh, with a roomy shower, great lighting, and shelves for toiletries. It didn’t feel cramped at all.

Balcony

The balcony was a highlight… large, private, and the perfect spot for morning coffee or evening views. Because our cabin sat right next to the premium deluxe bubble cabins, our balcony was deeper than most standard ones. It felt like a hidden upgrade.

Would We Book It Again?

We couldn’t have been happier with stateroom 14436 on the Sun Princess. The combination of comfort, storage, and an oversized balcony made it ideal for our family. I would absolutely book this cabin again and highly recommend it if you’re considering a deluxe balcony on this ship.

Sun Princess Embarkation Day Lunch in the MDR

After boarding the Sun Princess just after 11 a.m., our cabin wasn’t ready yet, so we headed straight for lunch. With carry-on bags in tow, we decided the Main Dining Room would be a smarter choice than…
