Most visitors to Glacier National Park enter the park via either the east or west ends of the Going to the Sun Road. And while the Going to the Sun Road is a must see, hopefully, you’ll have enough time in Glacier to check out the other amazing areas of the park such as Glaciers Northfork Area near Polebridge, Montana.
The entrance station in Glaciers Northfork Area is located by the small (and I mean small) community of Polebridge. This area of the park is one of the more remote areas. Roads are gravel, services are limited, and you certainly don’t want to count on having access to cell signal or internet!
Polebridge, Montana Trip Tip
While services may not be abundant in this area, you can get an awesome treat! You don’t want to miss the Polebridge Mercantile. This local favorite has been in business for over 100 years!
The Polebridge Mercantile includes a delicious bakery where you can stuff your picnic basket full of tasty sandwiches made with fresh baked bread along with flaky pastries and other goodies.
Just because Glaciers Northfork Area has few dining options doesn’t mean you’ll go hungry! In fact, you might need to plan an extra hike or two to work off all of the delectable baked goods you’ll want to eat.
