Travel tees make the BEST souvenirs! In Tip & Tee, I show off an awesome tee I picked up on my trip and share a tip for that location.
Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a “prime value” resort at Universal Resort Orlando. I think this resort to be comparable to a “moderate” resort at Disney.
The theming at Cabana Bay is awesome! The retro 50s/60s decor creates a fun and family friendly vibe.
Cabana Bay is huge – 2200 rooms! In 2017, the resort added 2 towers: Bayside and Beachside. These towers house approximately 200 rooms each and are located on the south side of the resort next to Volcano Bay, Universal’s water park.
There is much to love about Cabana Bay Beach Resort. It is loaded with amenities like a lazy river and a bowling alley. Arguably, one of Cabana Bay’s best features is its close proximity to Volcano Bay.

Tip: Cabana Bay Volcano View Room
If your budget allows, book a Cabana Bay Beach Resort Volcano View Room in either the Beachside or Bayside towers.
We loved the floor to ceiling windows and the unique view of the volcano. At night, the volcano comes alive with colorful lights. Turn off the lights in your room, open the curtains, and enjoy the show!
Another perk of the Bayside and Beachside Towers at Cabana Bay Beach Resort is that both are located near the special entrance to Volcano Bay reserved only for Cabana Bay guests. And, it is a super easy way to get to Volcano Bay!
One word of caution, a drum sequence plays each time the waves begin in the Volcano Bay water park. So, if you plan on a daytime nap, bring a set of ear plugs.
We loved Universal Orlando’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort! It’s a comfortable resort loaded with amenities. And, it’s retro style is anything but ordinary!
